The new STRONG LEAP-S1 is a remarkable solution for upgrading your TV to Smart TV, with access to the Google Play Store and many other applications, for TV content from streaming services, file playback and more. Enjoy your favorite feeds directly from Netflix, Prime Video or Disney +, as the corresponding certification is available for all.
The Strong LEAP-S1 provides 4K UHD resolution, H.265 decoding, Wi-Fi 5 Dual Band, built-in Chromecast, Google Assistant and more. With the full-featured Google Assistant, you can control playback, play or resume TV shows and movies with voice commands, and get answers to questions.
The Strong Leap-S1 has an elegant shape, where on the front we find 3 LED indicators for remote control function, internet connection and activation. On the back we have from the left a useful general switch-button ON / OFF, the input 12 V / 1A for the supplied external power supply, Ethernet 100, HDMI2.1 port with HDCP2.3, AV output and optical output of digital audio S / PDIF .
On the side, there are 2 USB ports (1xUSB 2.0 + 1xUSB 3.0) and a Micro SD card slot for memory expansion. The Strong Leap-S1 also comes with a Bluetooth remote control with direct access keys to Netflix and Prime Video.
The Strong Leap S1 carries a SoC Amlogic S905X2 with a quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 processor at 1.8 GHz, 2 GB DDR4 memory and 8 GB eMMC, while the graphics engine is the quad-core ARM Mali-G31 @ 1800 MHz.
Key features also include Bluetooth 4.2 and Dual band WiFi (2.4GHz & 5GHz) 2R2T 802.11 n / g / b / ac.
For lovers of good quality sound, the Strong Leap S1 features Dolby Digital / Dolby Digital Plus decoder, MPEG-1 layer1 / 2. Dolby 7.1 also "passes" through HDMI.
With Android TV 10, everything runs smoothly and you will not encounter problems eg with navigation or various incompatibilities.
The well-known Android TV Launcher will show you the pre-installed applications Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube, as well as Google Play Movies, Google Play Store, while you can clearly install additional applications of your choice, such as Kodi which is located in version 19.1 Matrix and of course works smoothly.
Android TV - as it is known - allows you to add or remove channels from the home screen, while you can also rearrange your favorites in the first row by pressing and holding OK and selecting Move or Remove.
No need to confirm the smooth operation and navigation of Netflix on the Strong Leap-S1, while the resolution reaches the maximum 4K, if of course you have a similar subscription and a suitable screen to see it. HD performance is also a given, as as we mentioned all certifications are available.
For subscribers of CosmoteTV's OTT service, compatibility with the Strong Leap S1 is confirmed, while for those who are also Netflix subscribers, this device will cover both services seamlessly, as we found out in the tests.
With the Chromecast feature, you can - without additional equipment - stream from your mobile or tablet directly to your TV screen, for applications that support this feature, such as YouTube.
By clicking on the corresponding screen icon that appears in the application, you will be able to watch the videos you select on your mobile phone, directly on your TV and in fact with excellent quality.
Google Assistant is a big chapter in itself, so we won't go into too much detail in this article. We will mention that you can give commands to the microphone of the remote control by pressing the corresponding button on the top right. You can also ask various questions (also in Greek) and the Google Assistant will also answer you in Greek, such as "What will the weather be like tomorrow?" And much more.
A very useful application is the voice search on Youtube, for which you do not need to type, just say what you are looking for (in Greek). You can also search for movies on Netflix!
What you can do in general with Google Assistant, he can show you and "himself" as long as you ask him "What can you do?". You can get a taste of Google Assistant on Strong Leap-S1 in the corresponding video!
