Marmitek Surround Anywhere 221: Connect wirelessly the surround back speakers

Marmitek's Surround Anywhere 221, is a wirelessly sender, with which you can connect the surround back speakers to your amplifier without annoying cables in your living room. The set consists of a transmitter and a receiver-amplifier with the corresponding speaker inputs and outputs.  The connection is very simple and it will not complicate you with complicated settings.
The receiver-amplifier delivers 2 × 25 W RMS capable audio power, while wireless communication takes place at 2.4 GHz with improved technology to prevent interference with Wi-Fi equipment!

The transmitter generates an uncompressed digital audio signal with a sample rate at 48 KHz, which is at 44.1 KHz CD, while range reaches 30m with visual contact and 10m via walls and ceilings.

Also, we need to mention that the transmitter and receiver are already paired (secure pairing), and you can use up to 6 sets in the same space without interference.

Description – Connections

The transmitter's dimensions are 120 x 82 x 30 mm, while on the rear there are inputs for the 2 pairs of cable of the rear surround speaker from the surround amplifier outputs, input for the supplied 5 V power supply and switch on/off. On the underside of the receiver, you will also find a button for pairing if and when needed as the two devices are already paired.

Activation – Function

As soon as you complete the connections, turn on your surround sound system and play a DVD or Blu-ray disc with 5.1 audio channel at low volume and make sure that the volume button on the receiver is in the middle. You must first turn on the transmitter, where the blue LED will start flashing slowly and then turn on the receiver. The LEDs both on the transmitter and receiver will be continuously blue, once pairing is reached, which is completed quickly to the point where you may not even see the LEDs flashing. Now you can adjust the volume of the Surround Anywhere receiver (RX) as needed, and in particular in relation to the other speakers, in order to have a balanced sound.

Please note that in case you need to turn off the system, you should first start with the receiver in order to avoid sudden acoustic sparks on your speakers..

Test

We tested the Surround Anywhere 221 set with a 5.1 surround amplifier system and we noticed the superb sound quality of the wireless rear speaker pairing with clarity and balance in the audio frequencies, faithfully following the source of the amplifier.
When we turned on the receiver, we heard a sound immediately, meaning that the pairing was instantly reached.

Our opinion

Marmitek «spoke» again with the  Surround Anywhere 221, allowing the avoidance of cables for the rear speakers of a home cinema or surround sound system, without any loss of sound quality, which is astonishing, as the 48 KHz sampling rate also indicates. This is a top system, which of course we recommend it!
