Onetrade, SAB Titan 3 Combo HDTV Receiver

SAB TITAN 4: Combo HD, HEVC, Stalker IPTV, media player

From the well known Sab, we have a remarkable new model, the Titan 4 which is H.265/HEVC COMBO with Card Reader, Cl + and two tuner , a satellite DVB-S/S2 and a hybrid DVB-T/T2 or DVB-C.

Sab Titan 4 comes fully equipped with a modern Ali 3259 processor and memory adequacy, fast menu, direct channel changes and with also 6000-channel storage capacity. The receiver has a Common Interface (CI+) & card reader, and a major advantage is compatibility with the codec H.265/HEVC, which is mainly used in UltraHD broadcasts but is particularly useful for playing files from the internet.

External description - Connections

The receiver has dimensions 220×169×46mm and in the front panel we see all the necessary control buttons of the receiver even without a remote control, one -of the two - USB 2.0 ports, a function LED, 4-digit display and smart card reader & Common Interface port behind the vertical door on the right. On the back, there are plenty of connections and starting from the left, we have RF IN (DVB-T/T2/C) input, LNB input (DVB-S/S2), S/PDIF digital audio output, the second USB 2.0 port, SCART, HDMI, Ethernet, RS232, IR IN for the supplied external infrared sensor and the input for the supplied 12V/1.5A power supply.

Menu - Operation

As usual, we immediately installed the corresponding unofficial software, with known additions. About the menus, we have the main choices System Organization, System Installation, System Information & USB Functions, Access System, Media, Application, Games and Stalker IPTV. In the Installation menu we find the "Install Satellite" option, which sets all the necessary parameters of our installation - DiSEqC for up to 16 satellites, DiSEqC 1.2/USALS for motors and more. Please note that for more than 4 satellites, you can use a single switch of 8 or 16 positions or separate switch DiSEqC 1.0 and 1.1 without any problems. In addition, Auto Installation is available to automatically find DiSEqC locations,
while with the Satellite Wizard you can find the viewing angles after entering your geographic coordinates and the orbital position of the satellite. Under Terrestrial Setup, you can download terrestrial channels and you have the same option for cable TV.

Organization – viewing of channels

In the channel organization, Sab Titan 4 excels as we display the total list in 4 modes by simply pressing the OK and the white key, while we can sort the list by satellite, alphabetically, provider, coding system, HD, terrestrial (or cable), favorite channels, and all. Also, with the blue button we can sort channels alphabetically and also to group them to free and encoded. Also, with the yellow button we can proceed to blocking, skipping, deleting and renaming channels while on the System Organizing path to Organize Favorites we can easily and quickly create up to 32 favorite lists. The channel infobar is one of the most complete with barcode level and signal quality as well as all the markings for channel elements such as HD, TTX, locked ($) and more. Also, with a second push of the INFO button we have extensive program information such as the case of a tape, while the 7-day EPG is recovered with the EPG button. We have to mention that you will find 46 pre-installed satellites with the option of adding more.

Media Player – PVR – HEVC/H.265

With Sab Titan 4, you can use an external USB 2.0 hard drive where the latter is automatically turned on and the corresponding settings are in the Media menu, where you find the options: Recording, Movie, Music, Pictures, Software, PVR Settings, Disk Management , Device Undo and Drive Configuration. Under PVR settings, we can activate the timeshift, select the type of record (TS / PS), while in the encoded entry option you should set No.
We can also play various video, audio and photo formats such as: mkv, avi, mpeg, ts, vob, mp3, jpeg and naturally H.265 compressed video files as mentioned above. During the test, playing back H.265 files and others like mkv with Greek subtitles was seamless, while letting out the receiver can play slideshow photos.
You also have 8 timers with recording settings for once, daily, weekly and monthly, while with the yellow button, you can also schedule recordings via EPG.

Applications – IPTV

With the unofficial software, in the Access-to-IP path, there are plenty of options for client-server features that can be connected up to 8 servers through numerous emus, and you can also edit / add codes for various systems like BISS, Viaccess and others. Also, in the Applications menu of the main menu you will find the online services Youtube, RSS Reader, Weather Forecast, Google Maps, Ftp, Titan Online, Web TV, IPTV, Rakstar IPTV and Xtream Codes. With Stalker IPTV in the main menu, you can import url servers to access online TV channels as well as the Video On Demand list and the Portals for corresponding iptv services. You can also "pass" the receiver and your own iptv channel lists via USB and with online setting via URL in the Web TV option.
Also, you can convert the receiver to a USB Wi-Fi Stick wirelessly with Ralink RT5370 chipset or via USB 3G.

Our opinion

The new Sab Titan 4 is a complete ComboHD receiver with powerful IPTV capabilities, such as access to Stalker portals, while HEVC/H.265 support greatly enhances the receiver's media player segment.
