Another very interesting feature is the ability to install DUAL BOOT EDITION firmware for LibreELEC for fans of this operating system.

In the package you will also find instructions for use, power supply, HDMI cable, remote control.

Menu - Operations - Remote control

The Launcher of the Tanix TX3 Mini includes on the left a sidebar with basic options and on the main screen, the ALICE UX lite edition applications appear by default that lead to Kodi 17.6, Google Play Store, Netflix, Youtube and Chrome browser. In addition, with +, you can add other applications from the list of installed apps.

The main option on the left sidebar shows all the pre-installed applications, which are: AirScreen, AppInstaller, Aptoide TV, Chrome, FileBrowser, KodiAddonUpdate, Media Center, Miracast, MoviePlayer, Netflix, PPPoE, Play Store, Settings, TV Center (Kodi), UPDATE, YouTube, Music, Settings and Gallery.

With the Third Basic option in the left sidebar, you can add applications of your choice.

Use of applications

With the Air Screen application, you can stream from your iOS / Android mobile phone as well as from your computer screen, directly to the TV screen (depending on your device), while you will also find instructions for each method suggested by the application. , such as via Chromecast, miracast, DLNA. For example, you can watch a video from your mobile phone's Youtube directly on your TV by tapping the screen icon at the top and selecting the AS-TX3 Mini. One point to keep in mind is Miracast, which should not be open if you are trying to connect in other ways. After a short period of inactivity, Miracast turns off automatically.

Aptoide TV is a great app store, with which you can install many applications outside of the Google Play environment. Recommended for testing with versions of Netflix applications.

In the Settings option (in Greek), you can - among other things - set the Greek language for the menus.

Regarding Netflix (SD), we used AptoideTV, in order to reinstall the application version 4.16.4 build 200217 and so we had an appearance in Greek with good navigation via remote control - as you can see in the corresponding video - while clearly you can always activate the mouse.

For Youtube, we used the YouTube version for Android TV (2.10.17) from AptoideTV, with the well-known excellent navigation results.

File playback - as it does on Android - is extremely satisfying, as the "weapon" called Kodi handles it in the best way, especially in all kinds of subtitle videos.

Our opinion

As the tests showed, the Tanix TX3 Mini is a remarkable Android 8.1 box with enough memory, a variety of pre-installed applications and a clear ability to install more.
