The TELE System CRX2 SET allows you to transfer the infrared commands of your remote control from any location of your home, via a coaxial cable, in order to control up to 3 devices from another room. You can use the remote control of your main electronic equipment (satellite or terrestrial decoder, TV, DVD, etc.) to transmit the current location to a remote location. The CRX2-R converts the infrared signal of the original remote unit into a new signal that can be transmitted over a coaxial cable. This last signal is received by the CRX2-T equipment that transforms the coaxial signal into the original infrared signal, thus controlling the remote equipment.
This set can be used - among other things - in modulators that do not have this feature, so that we can remotely control our basic or basic devices.
Update 19/4/2019: The new version of this set - in addition to compatibility with CosmoteTV decoders, it also works for Nova decoders!
The set consists of a transmitter (CRX2-T) and a receiver (CRX2-R), the corresponding infrared sensors permanently connected to a cable, as well as the 2 external power supplies.
Each unit is connected to a TV socket, while it also has the corresponding RF connection for any of our devices, in order to continue receiving a signal. Essentially, the two units are inserted between the socket and the device, so the ASK 11 MHz signal can travel through the coaxial network.
The CRX2-R has a signal level setting, while the CRX2-T has a frequency setting of the transmitted infrared signal with a default setting at 37 KHz +/- 1, for any differences in the operation of the devices. In the package, you will also find 2 small plastic screwdrivers for these settings. Each unit has a red LED, which during sending and receiving remote control commands, flashes, informing us that everything is going well!
Due to the ASK (Amplitude Shift Keying) signal at 11 MHz, for the smooth operation of the system, the TV sockets in use with the system, as well as any splitters, must have a 5-47 MHz return channel. Otherwise, you may need to replace some of the above with newer ones.
The system was tested in a real installation with splitter 1: 3 and 3 TV sockets, in which the condition of return channel was valid, while the route of the coaxial cable was more than 20 meters. Remotely controlled devices included Linux receivers as well as CosmoteTV decoder. The CRX2 worked immediately and seamlessly, but we noticed that the CRX2-R's sensor is quite directional, but that didn't cause any problems with operation. One feature that makes it easy to remotely control is that you can monitor the activation or not of the LED and through the sensor, with which you will have eye contact anyway.
