TELE System Hello: Smart Bell IP WiFi HD

The Italian TELE System, introduced an IP video communication system called Hello, enabling you to watch, answer and talk to people who call you at your doorbell, even if you are not at home, directly from smartphone.

When prompt response to the front doorbell is important for a variety of reasons, then the Hello system is for you. With this system, you can replace your old intercom with Hello. The main function of Hello is the live transmission of high definition audio and video thanks to the H.264 compression protocol and the possibility of remote use, thanks to the TCP / IP transmission protocol. As soon as someone rings the doorbell, Hello creates a video call on your mobile device, which you can watch, listen to and answer by talking to the people at your door, wherever you are. Hello is waterproof, has a built-in infrared camera designed for night vision, allows you to open the gate or door directly using the application, while it is easy to install.

Description

The system consists of an indoor unit and an outdoor unit. The indoor unit is designed for alarm tone only when the visitor presses the button on your door. The indoor unit must be installed inside the building and the ringtone duration is approximately 10 seconds. This unit includes the Stop, Music and Play buttons, which we use to stop the alarm, to select a ringtone and to start the ringtone respectively, while a small but powerful loudspeaker is clearly available. You will also find a socket for powering the outdoor unit, via the adapter included in the package. The dimensions of the indoor unit are 48x128x40 mm.

The outdoor unit has a metal and high quality construction, has a 720p camera for day and night shooting, as well as the bright CALL button, which is pressed by each visitor. A speakerphone / microphone is also available for chats. The outdoor unit has dimensions 105x77x25 mm and must be installed at a height of at least 130 cm from the ground, in order to properly receive the image of visitors.

Connections 

The outdoor unit includes an Ethernet socket, two cables (red, black) for the power supply that will come from the indoor unit and two brown cables for the power supply of the electrical unlocking system. You will also find a gray cable to which we can connect the supplied WiFi antenna for a better signal, in case we use Hello wirelessly.

Installation - Application atHOME Control

To use the TELE System Hello, you must first connect it to your network in one of the available ways. First of all, it should be mentioned that Hello can be connected to the network both via Ethernet and via WiFi. Clearly, the most direct way is wireless connection, as it is unlikely that Ethernet cabling is available on the front door, however this - technically - can be implemented or already available in larger commercial buildings.

Wireless connection 

The steps for connecting Hello wirelessly to your network are very specific, which - if followed correctly - will allow you to connect instantly and be ready in no time.

1. Install the atHOME control application from the AppStore or GooglePlay (depending on the device).
2. Turn on WiFi on your smartphone / tablet, launch the atHOME control app and click + to add a new device.
3. Press CALL continuously on the outdoor unit until you hear a beep and repeat the same 2 more times. Hello will restart creating a wireless network.
4. In the atHOME application, select "Click here for NEW wireless device" and in the new card that will appear "Auto search and connect mobile to device", wait until you see the message "Device Connected successfully. Please go to the next step. ”
5. All available wireless networks will be displayed and you will select your own by entering your own key.
6. On the card that will appear with the details of the Hello device, press confirm. You are ready.

Now, every time someone rings the bell, you will be able to answer and see him from your mobile phone, whether you are at home or somewhere far away with a data connection.

Wired connection

If you connect Hello via Ethernet cable, things are even easier, as after step 2, select Click here for connected wired / wireless device. Like any device connected to the network, Hello, by connecting via Ethernet cable, will immediately get an IP. The simplest connection method is to select LAN search. When Hello is found, tap on the code that will be displayed (UID), and then press Confirm. You are ready again.

Another method is to scan - in the application - the QR code located on the back of Hello, where again the details of your own Hello will be automatically entered and you will press Confirm. As a last resort, you can manually enter either the UID (listed on the back of the outdoor unit) or the IP received by Hello, which you will somehow have to discover, for example with an IP scanner program.

We recommend the LAN search solution which is the most painless.

Connecting an additional 3 tVEDO cameras

With the atHOME Control application and the wireless connection method we described, you can control an additional 3 devices and in particular TeleSystem tVEDO WiFi cameras, thus creating a complete surveillance system of your home. The tVEDO cameras are 101HDi-internal, 100MHDi-motor and 110HDe-external.

Connecting additional mobile devices

With the TELE System Hello, you can clearly use additional mobile phones, for example for all members of the family, to which you will connect any devices you have (bell, cameras), with the method of connecting an existing device described above.

Web Interface

At a more technical level, you can also access the Web Interface of the TELE System Hello, as long as you enter the IP it has received on the network, in a browser. In both the atHOME Control application and the web interface, the logins are username: Admin and password: 888888. In the web interface, you will find settings for both the network and the various functions, but its use does not she is necessary. You can, for example, set a fixed IP that you will know about in all cases, but again this is not mandatory.

With the atHOME Control application, you will first receive a notification when someone rings the bell, to which you will be able to answer and talk while seeing him, but without seeing you, but only hearing you. You can also take photos and record video with storage on your mobile phone, open the door to the visitor in case you are in your home or in general in any building, as well as choose which image you will see.

When you answer the bell, you can set the chat mode as in the phone with the phone icon or talk when you press the microphone icon.

Our opinion

TELE System Hello is a very remarkable remote monitoring system, which allows you to answer your doorbell wherever you are, but also to have an image of your home and perimeter if you have connected tVEDO cameras. The installation of the system does not present difficulties, while it will excite the lovers of modern technology and the smart home!
